Sansha is a globally recognized company, specialized in the production and sales of professional dancewear.
In addition to their international chain of physical establishments, Sansha also owns a multistore of 13 online stores.
Our client had to migrate their online stores from Magento 1 to the new Magento 2 version in order to continue to benefit from support, obtain more functionality and improved look and feel of their online store.
With the end of support for Magento 1, Sansha's management decided they needed a better alternative.
To comply with customer requirements, it was necessary to come up with a migration plan that involved keeping the store`s general look and feel, transferring the database completely, and developing three completely custom B2B stores, capable to manage massive product orders.
From ballet to jazz, hip-hop, flamenco, or social dance, Sansha collaborates with renowned professionals for worldwide stages.
When they started back in 1982, they changed the history of dance shoes forever. Being a growth-oriented company, Sansha is focused on strengthening its brand identity online as well.
Therefore, their management had invested considerable amounts of time and resources in developing a large-scale infrastructure for their online stores.
Given the circumstances, our team vetted Magento 2 as the right solution.
Our client already had a business plan that they wanted to implement.
We transferred the data for all 13 online stores to the new platform so that the customer would benefit from all the advantages Magento 2 has to offer, without affecting their day-to-day activities, during the entire period of the migration process.
The main objective of this project was to adapt the existing functionalities and modules to our client`s current needs.
It was necessary to integrate dozens of custom modules such as a B2B all-in-one management solution (QuickBooks Enterprise) to simplify order and inventory management.
Another objective was to create a scalable structure capable to support several groups of customers and facilitate the ordering process for users.
The new platform had to enable access to real-time information for Sansha`s support teams to improve customer communication.
Before we began the migration process, as a first step we conducted thorough research on Sansha`s ideal buyer persona and complied an analysis of their direct competitors.
Based on the gathered information and the business plan provided by the client, we established the minimum requirements necessary for a successful webshop and then compared the data with the existing functionalities.
Given the size of the store, our approach was to treat the project as a completely new one rather than an upgrade to a new Magento version.
We had to migrate gradually each of the 13 stores.
Three of them have been customized to fit B2B segment requirements (for China, Europe, and North America) to support orders of up to 600 products simultaneously, with values of up to 100,000 Euros.
We implemented a total of 12 payment modules, 20 delivery modules and created over 60 other custom modules.
From a design perspective, we kept the color palette, some of the existing images and we made some improvements to the layout to give it a more modern feel whilst maintaining the brand`s familiarity, according to the client's wishes.
I am thankful to all my colleagues for their hard work on the Sansha Magento2 project, as this was a real challenge for us. I am happy with the result, and I hope Sansha can use this for many years to come as we put a lot of heart into this project!
It was quite a complex project, with almost 1 year of constant work. I am happy with how it turned out, and I am glad we completed it.
This was a very technical project, that needed a long-sustained effort to get over the finishing line. I have learned a lot from it.
This was a challenging project, and I am happy to have been part of the team. I am proud of our work.
To meet the customer's needs, we used the Magento2 platform. One of the most scalable eCommerce solutions at the moment, used by well-known brands such as Helly Hansen, Liverpool, Olympus, or Christian Louboutin.
We created over 60 extensions and invested over 6000 hours of custom development to deliver what our client wanted.
We also made a custom integration with QuickBooks Enterprise to automate inventories and orders.
