Internal linking is one of the most important parts of SEO on-site optimization<\/a>. Not only it confers several SEO benefits, like making it easier for search engine spiders to discover and archive as many relevant pages as they can on one visit, but it also forms the structure of your website.<\/p>\n

Here, we wrote down some tips for an effective internal linking:<\/p>\n

1. Create quality content worth linking to<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Your content is the first thing a visitor sees and it\u2019s what brings them to your website. Make sure that you create an original and useful content, written for engaging visitors and potential clients.<\/p>\n

It is essential that you understand your market and customers when you are developing your content. Build internal links around content that provides value to readers.<\/p>\n

2. User’s search patterns <\/strong><\/h4>\n

When planning your website structure, it\u2019s recommended that you take in consideration how users search for your products or services. After doing a keyword research, include them in your internal linking strategy.<\/p>\n

3. Make sure the links are relevant<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Keep in mind that links must be placed strategically, for them to be a perfect invitation for visitors to continue navigating through your website. That is why the link must have a purpose and be related to the content of the page.<\/p>\n

Use relevant keywords in the anchor text to link blog and news content to products and categories.<\/p>\n

4. Use Internal Anchor Text<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Anchor Text is the blue text in a hyperlink that is clickable and should describe what the target link is about. For external links and internal links, anchor text is still a powerful ranking signal.<\/p>\n

Anchor text can provide relevant contextual information about the content of the link’s destination for both search engines and visitors.<\/p>\n

For good SEO value, the anchor text should be succinct, relevant, with a low keyword density and also it shouldn\u2019t be generic.<\/p>\n

5<\/strong>. <\/strong>Plan Your Internal Linking Structure<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The internal linking structure is the way the pages of a website link to each other. This is important for Google to understand what pages are the most important on your website.<\/p>\n

For a good internal linking structure make sure the most important pages have the largest number of links pointing to them and that the internal links point to the same page with different anchor texts, this way Google can find out more about that page.<\/p>\n
